It’s October and fall is in full swing, but for us crafty peeps, it’s Halloween season! Hi everyone, it’s Jules of Paper Gems by Jules on the blog today with a fun way to turn this cute “Little Lads” stamp set into a fun Halloween card with some masking.
Unity has these adorable sets of round characters and for this card, I pulled out these two little guys that are dressed up. Now my youngest used to love to dress up… like every day. One day he’d be Spiderman, another day he was Superman… we never knew who was coming out of that room. 🤷🏻♀️.
To make this fun background, I die cut a circle on a post-it and masked where the moon would be. I used masking tape to block off the ground and used Black Soot Distress ink for the floor. Next, I moved the masking tape to the bottom to covered the floor and started around the moon with Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink, next Seedless Preserve Distress ink and last a little of the Black Soot on the edge. Before removing the masks, I splattered water, Perfect Pearls with water and white paint over the background to create a starry background. After that dried, I removed the masking and stamped the sentiment which was from the June 2020 Kit of the Month: Change the World.
For some added fun, I used a small bat die from Sizzix to finish up this too cute to be spooky Halloween card. Thanks so much for following along and I hope you’ve found some inspiration using masking to create a fun scene. Until next time…
Have a crafty day!
Jules
