Tuscan Tile Background

Writer's picture: JulesJules

Happy Friday! It's Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules on the blog today sharing this fun background technique that works perfectly with the new Tuscan Tile Background Stamp by Brutus Monroe for Unity! Yes, this week Unity released not one but FOUR new background stamps designed by Brutus Monroe and they are all amazing. I'm highlighting this one today on the blog, but I've also posted another card featuring this same background stamp on Instagram for the collaborative Instagram Hop running through June 12th! I'll post the link to the hop at the end of this blog! Now let's craft!

The Tuscan Tile is a beautifully detailed and distressed background for any crafter. I took it in the very literal sense and kept it with the blue and white look of a Tuscan tile. For this card, I cut a square a scored one inch squared and then stamped with white pigment ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I paired this blue and white background with the Fresh Lemonade stamp set as a bright yellow pop of color. Using a light grey Copic marker, I grounded the image and gave it a shadow and adhered it to a yellow card base.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you found some inspiration. Make sure to check out the Instagram hop by starting at Unity's Instagram Page for a chance to win some prizes!!

Until next time... Happy Crafting!
