Spread Joy, Not Germs Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by on this amazing #SpreadJoyNotGerms Blog Hop. Our goal is to spread some joy during this difficult time for so many of us and share some joy with lots of prizes! Hoping this card will stir up some creativity and inspire some crafty good cards to spread some joy!

I chose to use the Unity Stamp Company "i am who i am" stamp set. I liked the distressed look of the flowers with the bold sentiment: "Enjoy every moment." Just the other day, I took the dogs for a walk around our neighborhood and I saw some of the cherry blossoms blooming. It made me think back to younger days growing up in Newark and heading to the park to see them all bloom. It was a beautiful moment and I treasure it. So when we have all this time on our hands, make some memories that will make you smile when we look back on these days.

This card was easily made using black card stock and printed paper. I love using printed paper for my cards. It's a subtle background that you can color over. First I stamped the distressed flower on black card stock using Versamark and used an old Champagne colored embossing powder. Once heated and melted, I fussy cut one side of the image. Next I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle dies on the printed paper. I layered the black embossed image over the printed paper, and used the same die to cut the black floral image and layered it onto the printed paper. Distressing the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks, I then stamped the sentiment using Ink on 3 Black Out Ink. Lastly, I layered this all onto a black card piece and a beige card base. For a little finishing touch, I added three dull gold sequins from my stash. Oh, and I almost forgot... I stamped the envelope as well. Why not make the recipient smile even before they open the envelope.
