Showering You with Love (repost from Crafty Doodle Chick Blog)

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's Jules from Paper Gems by Jules back again to share two cards with you.  Valentine's Day is coming fast and who wouldn't love getting a cute Valentine featuring My Favorite Things' Pure Innocence: Showering You with Love?  Here's how you can take a cute stamp set and, by using certain colors and paper patterns, give it a Valentine feel.

In this first card, I started with a fun red paper and used the Mini Raindrops Stencil by My Favorite Things and some pink pigment ink.  Once I let that dry,  I created the floor and clouds using white paper and velum.  Now for the fun part.. paper piecing.

In this card, I stamped on a light blue paper that matched a patterned heart paper that I used on the umbrella.  Fussy cutting each out.  I used my Copic markers to give a little bit of shading on the blue in her hat, jacket and boots.  I colored in the buttons on her coat and the little bit of her shirt as well in red.  And I almost forgot to stamp her hand and cut that out as well... otherwise, her hand would have been blue too!  I did the same with the umbrella.

For this next card, I did the same kind of paper piecing, but with different patterned papers.  I opted to use the stencil at an angle on this one and added some pink hearts in the clouds.  Can you feel the love pouring down in these two cards?

To add some finishing touches, I added little white dots on her cheeks for highlights and grey shadowing on the floor to ground the image.

You can still purchase the items used in these cards at CraftyDoodleChick.com while supplies last!  Click on any of the links in this blog to get your new favorite stamps and make a fun paper piecing card to share on the Crafty Doodle Chick Chat & Create Facebook page!

Thank you all so much for following along. I hope you enjoyed this fun Valentine card.  Make sure to subscribe to the blog so you can be notified when the CDC design team posts again!

Until next time... Happy Crafting!
