New Beginnings

Today is my last post for my week on Growing in Unity. It's been so great hearing from all of you and I'm so happy to have been able to share just some of my favorite stamps and techniques. For my last share, I wanted to mix and match using three different stamp sets.

3. She

The "Be My Bird" was my first KOM. It was my gift to me for my birthday... and two plus years later, every month is a happy surprise of red rubber stamps! Empowered Words and She are recent stamp sets that I liked for empowering cards. I am so blessed to have so many strong and talented women in my life that I knew these two sets would come in handy. Now, let's get into the cards!

For my first example, I combined the three stamp sets to make this empowering card for the amazing sister, friend or stranger that needs to know there is more in store!

Step 1: I stamped the beautiful girl from the 4/17 KOM in the center using my Misti.

Step 2: I stamped one of the sentiments from the "She" stamp set and centered it using the girl as a point of reference.

Step 3: I made a mask fo the girl and the word "she" and placed those on top of the matching images.

Step 4: Using the small words of "Empowered Words" stamp set, I did second generation stamping using Momento London Fog and created a background of positive words.

Step 5: Leaving the masks, I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink mixed with water and did some platters on the background and heat set them.

Step 6: I removed the masks and colored the image using the following colors:

- Hair: T8, T6, T4, T2, 0

- Face: E34, E53, E51, RV11, RV29

- Accessories: BG09, BG49, BG15, BG13, RV29

Step 7: I used the Peacock Feathers and Black Soot Distress Inks to shade the edges of the paper.

Step 8: Lastly, I matted the image on black card stock with foam tape and adhered that to a white card base.

Step 9: For a little extra bling, I added some Wink of Stella on the lips and accessories. I also added some matching sequins as well.

Although there is only one main sentiment, this card has so much to say. Below is another version of this same card using different colors:

- Hair: E49, E79, E77, E74, E71

- Face: E15, E35, E33, E04

- Accessories: V17, V15, V12, V01

- Distress Inks: Seedless Preserves and Black Soot

Thank you so much for joining me this week. I truly appreciate each and every one of you and you kind words. I only hope that you found some inspiration and feel empowered to make more! Until next time... Happy Crafting!
