Just because Valentine's Day has passed, that doesn't mean we stop celebrating love. Let me introduce you to the new Rescue Tale: Sandy. She defined pure love to me. And this new stamp is dedicated to my dearest Sandy Bear who was my soul dog, my heart dog. I truly can go on and on about her, but for now let's get crafty.
I started with the new Pup-Pup Paper Pack which is full of coordinating patterns that go well with all the rescue stamps and more! This particular paper had some light distress color on the edge, so when I trimmed it to size, I added some Antique Linen to the edge of it to even the other sides out.
Next, I die cut the largest stitched heart from the Dashes & Frills Hearts die set and used Distress Oxides to color it in. Oxides are great for a velvety rich color. Using the same die, I die cut Sandy. This allow for an easy alignment. I used Copics to color my girl in. Most Rottweilers come in classic colors of black and a rust color, but there are rare red Rottweilers too!
And for the sentiment, I opted to make this a Valentine's Day card and add the "love you" die from the All This Ultra Love Die Set. Using the black and white layers to help it stand out and coordinate with the background it all coordinates and comes together.
This is Sandy, my faithful heart dog. She was rescued at 2 years old and we both learned how to love and trust from each other. The loss of her presence was quite difficult, but it has pushed me to do more each day to honor her life. I have been able to foster 9 dogs last year, have volunteered at several events for rescues and donated many things all to help other animals in Sandy's name. I can only hope that many other can experience the gentle love that this girl brought to my heart for the almost 8 years I had with her.
