Hi everyone! This is Jules of the Sassy Crew and I'm super excited to share my VERY FIRST time playing with these Gel Press products. And it all started with a kiss! This week Sassy & Crafty Stamps is collaborating with Gel Press to share some fun new ways of getting inky! And here's my take.
Although I recently purchased some acrylic paints to use with the Gel Press, I couldn't remember where I put them when I packed up my craft room for some renovations... so I used what I had in reach, my Distress Oxide inks. I started with some Twisted Citron Oxide ink and pressed the ink pad on the gel press and used my brayer to blend it out. I laid a piece of Bristol Smooth paper over it and gently pressed it to distribute the ink.
I loved how it looks a little grungy and provides texture. I used my heat gun and dried it and then geared up for the big kiss! Gel Press has these mini shapes and I used the kiss with Candied Apple Distress Oxide.
I didn't have an acrylic blog big enough, so I used one of my embossing plates to adhere the mini gel press shape. Once inked, I pressed it onto my colored paper.
I love how detailed it came out. So fun! Now lets stamp this background up with some beautiful words from the "You Are" Sentiment Stamp set. I used VersaFine Clair ink to stamp it in the center. Without wiping off the ink, I stamped it a few more times on the paper.
Next, I stamped the sassy girl from "Sassy Girls - OMG" stamp set. Inspired by the bright red kiss and lime green, I colored here up, but added some blue. So after she was colored, I added some Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink on spots of the background.
I fussy cut here out and adhered her using some foam tape on the lower left corner. Matted the image on navy card stock and added it to a white card base... and this card is ready for that strong and sassy friend!
I absolutely LOVE how easy and fun it is to use this gel press. Now stop by @sassyandcrafty.co on Instagram for an awesome giveaway featuring Sassy & Crafty stencils and Gel Press! And stay tuned for more amazing cards and crafts using the latest release!
