Happy Friday! This is Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules and I’m kind of keeping it simple today with this no-line coloring card featuring the new May 2021 Sentiment Kit “In My Thoughts, Girl.” This new stamp set has beautiful florals and sentiments, but I took the two little leaves and made them a soft focal point.

I don’t often use watercolors, but these beautiful little leaves just called for something more organic. I stamped them with a very light brown color ink and let it settle. Next, using the Olive Green Karin Brushmarker, I started with the bottom of each leaf and shaded on side. Then blended it in with a my water brush using water.

I definitely could use some practice, but it’s hand made. In order to distract the eye from some of the imperfections, I used some ink splatter using the Sandstone Karin Brushmarker. I just put some of the ink on my glass mat, sprayed a little water on it and used my paint brush to splatter it on. For another element of color, I used some Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls pigment and splattered that on. And for a little… some white paint splattered on.

For the final touches, I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink on the new Black Licorice card stock and embossed it in super fine white embossing powder. I die cut it using a banner die and adhered it to the top layer. I backed that onto more Black Licorice card stock, and backed it again on gold foiled paper. Last, all of this was adhered to an ivory card base.

To add a some more detail to this card, I stamped the beautiful florals on the inside of the card. You can also stamp the envelope.

I encourage you to explore taking the smaller elements of your stamp sets and make something that is simply beautiful.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you found some new ideas to explore. Until. next time…
Happy Crafting!
Jules
