Happy Friday! It's Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules back on the blog sharing two fun holiday cards highlighting fun layouts using lots of Unity's nesting dies and the two new penguin stamps: Arctic Joyride and A Few of My Faves. Let's cut into it...
For the first card, using the "A Few of My Faves" stamp set I used the following supplies:
I also cut two strips of pattered paper using the with of the short end of the rectangle die: one at 3/4" and the other at 1". Cut a piece of black card stock at 3.875" x. 5.125".
Copics: R59, R29, R27, R20, G46, G43, YG91, E44, W1, W00, B41, 0
You can stamp the image and die cut it using the smaller square stitched die. You can stamp the sentiment and use the one of the sentiment dies. I used Old Paper Distress Ink to add ink to the edge of both and Copics to color the penguin.
To put this together, I start by adding the black rectangle on the card base. Next, the stitched die cut rectangle over the black piece. Now, the larger stitched square slightly above the center of the card. Before adding the two strips of card stock, I tied some red burlap string around and added a snowflake button. I used thin foam tape. behind this to adhere to the square. Next, I used foam tape to adhere the larger stamped square but only putting adhesive on the top and bottom so the middle was elevated by the strips below. I also used the same foam tape to adhere the sentiment.
For the second card featuring Arctic Joyride, the colors are the same, but there are a few other fun Unity products:
Black card stock was cut to 5.375" x 4.125", red patterned paper was cut to 5.25" x 4" and ivory patterned paper was cut to 5.25" x 2".
Similar to the first one, I stamped the image and die cut it, colored the image with Copics and used Old Paper Distress Ink on the edges.
For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment and die cut it using the banner die. I used a button brad on the sentiment strip and trimmed it to be not too long. I used that same banner die, to die cut the ivory patterned paper. I used a wider banner die to cut the green patterned paper and layered them in a scattered form.
To put this card together, I start by adhering the black piece onto the card base, then the red rectangle. Next, I add the smaller ivory piece to the top of the red piece. (Bonus: I happened to have a thin black strip, so I added it to the bottom of the ivory piece like a border) Now, add the scalloped circle and use foam tape to add the banners.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you found some inspiration.
Until next time... Happy Crafting!
