Die Cut Cards

Happy Friday, Crafty Friends! Today I'll be sharing how to make fun shaped cards using your shaped dies. A2 sized cards are usually my standard go-to size, but let's do something a little different using some of Unity's awesome dies.

For the first card, I started with the Make-a-Tag die set, Dashes & Frills Hearts die set and Autumn Dreams paper pack.

  • Step 1: Using the largest scalloped tag die, die cut two pieces of white heavy card stock.

  • Step 2. Score of the large scalloped tags at 1 inch and fold back. You'll later, adhere this top part to the back of the other white tag you die cut to create a folding card base.

  • Step 3. Die cute your favorite patterned paper using the largest stitched rectangle (slightly smaller than the scalloped one you used) and adhere to the white tag that is NOT scored.

  • Step 4. Using the Dashes & Frills Hearts die, die cut the stitched heart using the another patterned paper and I die cut the scalloped heart using gold paper. Adhere the patterned paper heart over the gold scalloped heart.

  • Step 5. Using similar ink colors, I stamped sentiments from the April 2020 Sentiment Kit: Trust It Will Be Okay and fussy cut them out.

  • Step 6. Adhere the heart to the front of tag using foam tape. I added the fussy cut sentiments to the heart using more foam tape.

  • Step 8. Using a small hole punch, punch out a hole for the tag ring that I die cut out of gold paper. Apply gold ring before adding ribbon.

  • Bonus Step: I added gold splatters and a few die cut leaves for a little extra bling.

This is a great way to add a little extra for a gift tag or even just a card. You can pop this in an A2 sized envelope, just fine!

Let's do another!!

I tried the same process with the Scallops & Squares die set and Autumn Dream patterned paper. The only difference would be where I scored the second scalloped square to adhere and make a card. For this one, I went down 1/2 an inch and again, used strong adhesive.

I used another sentiment from the beautiful Trust It Will Be Okay Sentiment Kit and a die cut sentiment to complete the card on the outside. But I also used the same Sentiment Kit for the inside of each of the cards.
