Dear Momma,

As Mother's Day approaches, I can't say I'm as happy as I used to be. Things are different. Beyond the whole pandemic lock down, things are just different. My family won't be together. Celebrating won't be a fun breakfast at the local diner and it won't be dinner with my mom.

I have all this extra time and I still have no visions of cards. Usually, I am inspired and drum up cards that say what I feel. But I just couldn't figure it out. The other day my order for Trinity Stamps Slimline Card Series: Stitched Card Panels and Windows and I figured, maybe that would change things up again. So I did my measuring (math makes me happy 🤷🏻‍♀️) and utilized the smallest layer. I pulled out the Unity Stamp Co. September 2017 Kit of the Month: Flowers, Foliage & Fall. There are these big beautiful flowers that would cover this card. Purple was my favorite color growing up because it was the hardest to spell. She knows that.

I struggled with the sentiment. I just didn't feel like Happy Mother's Day said what I felt. Then I looked through the sentiments in "... Trust It Will Be Okay." I should have know just by the title of this new Sentiment Kit would have the right words. I used the Simon Says Stamp mom die and one of the dies from the Love from Lizi Background Builder die set for the sentiment. After adhering the die cut images, I layered it all on a black layer also die cut from the Trinity Stamps die set.

Last, I adhered to this card base and added Ranger's Stickles in Glisten to the bits on the flowers. My mom is simple and subtle, but she is bold in her own way. She listens so well and after years of dealing with my younger days, she has come to support me in a way that makes everything feel okay. I still talk to her daily, but I could sure use a hug.

Alas, I'm thankful to know she's healthy. I'm grateful to be able to call her each day and chat about nothing or everything. I'm hopeful that we'll be able to spend many more days together. Love ya, mom.

Thanks for listening and I hope you can celebrate a loving mom in your life whether she's your mom, bonus mom, grandma or a mother figure.

I am right where you are. This whole thing, loss of our Constitutional freedoms, our son has been out of work the entire time and won't be able to get a job for quite a while, our daughter knows she will lose her job soon (with 2 kids and on her own and going through a really horrible divorce!!!), our son's apprenticeship classes have been put on hold until who knows when so his 5 year program will last who knows long and since he isn't able to work, his hours toward his apprenticeship program is being stretched for that reason, too....my husband has taken a pay cut, my daughter, while she has the job still, has taken a pa…
