Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing an awesome background stamp called "Dance with Denim" that can be used in so many ways. Below there are two cards using this stamp as a background stamp on navy card stock to create a feminine and masculine card... because we all rock denim!
This first card was inspired by my son (I'm sure some of you can relate). He's 23 now and recently moved out. Just the other day he was telling how he was washing the dishes with such pride. It totally made me smile. So I made this card using the "Loads and Loads" stamp set. But putting the denim background in navy it kept with the theme of the card.
For this card, I wiped off the smile and the lettering on the washing machine stamp. I wanted it to look a little more like a regular. washing machine. I also fussy cut the socks and threw them everywhere... just like he used to. LOL
For my second card, these bright, cheery florals from the January 2021 Sentiment Kit: ... Hello Fresh Start" make this same denim background appear differently. I stamped the the background again using Gina K's "In the Navy" ink giving that subtle tone on tone look. For the floral, I colored it with Copics. In order to get the full gradient of yellow to orange, I used: YR07, YR16, Y38, Y17 & Y08.
The bright orange just stands out so much over the navy blue... and what's better than roses and jeans. Loving this combo.
Another way to use this awesome background is to use it for paper piecing. Stamp "Dance with Denim" and then stamp the image you'd like to have denim. Fussy cut and apply.
I love a versatile stamp that you can use in multiple ways. "Dance with Denim" is totally one of those, so make sure you've got it in your stash!
Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you've found some inspiration. Until next time...
Happy Crafting!
